Agropromkomplektatsiya expands cooperation with the Kursk Region

Agropromkomplektatsiya Group of Companies’ Chief Executive Officer Sergei Novikov held a business meeting with the Kursk Region Governor Roman Starovoit at Kursk Meat Processing Plant, where a cooperation agreement between the company and the region has been signed.

Sergei Novikov has confirmed the Group of Companies’ intention to invest about 8 billion rubles into the Region’s agro-industrial sector up to 2024.

As part of the APK-Kursk LLC (part of Agropromkomplektatsiya Group of Companies) major development strategy it will continue to upgrade the existing facilities and the construction of new production sites. In particular APK-Kursk LLC is planning to strengthen the pig breeding business line of the Group of Companies'.

Due to the launch of the new cattle dairy complexes Dmitriyevsky and Troitsky-2 in 2021 and respectively the increasing number of breeding animals it took Agropromkomplektatsiya less than a year to become one of Russian’s TOP-3 raw milk producers with a daily volume of production amounting to 550 tons.

“It is very important for the Kursk Region that Agropromkomplektatsiya fully implements its investment projects in the shortest possible time even despite the global economic changes. Each new production site means new jobs, a contribution to the development of rural areas and development of the region’s agro-industrial sector”, — Roman Starovoit said.

“The Kursk Region is one of the top-priority regions of presence of the Group of Companies, here we have our significant production assets, — Sergei Novikov said, — We are planning to maintain the existing investment volume and implement our new projects with the support of the Region’s administration, Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and Rosselkhozbank – our long-term partner”.

The business meeting was also attended by Alexei Lazarev, chairman of the Federation of the Kursk Region trade union organizations. A trilateral agreement between the Group of Companies, Kursk Region administration and Federation has also been signed.

In addition to the above mentioned information Sergei Novikov showed Roman Starovoit the Group of Companies’ cattle breeding site located in the village of Stary Buzets, Zheleznogorsk district.

The specialized young cattle livestock raising and feeding farm can simultaneously accommodate more than 5500 animals, which have been delivered from the Group of Companies’ own livestock facilities located in the Kursk and Tver regions.

During the tour the guests saw the Group of Companies’ Holstein bulls. The diet of animals on feedlots is designed for their weight gain — the bulls must gain maximum volume of energy. By the end of the technological cycle of fattening, their weight is about 700 kg, and their age equals 18 months.

The construction of the site was launched by the Group of Companies in the fall of 2020, and this spring the special farm sold the first batch of animals for meat processing.
